Declaration on Authority and Moral Means

The Crown accepts authority as responsibility rather than ornament.

It will rule, decide, direct, appoint, refuse, correct, and preserve. It will not hide indecision behind endless caution or claim virtue through words unsupported by structure and conduct.

The Crown also rejects the belief that power becomes righteous merely because it pursues a noble end.

No amount of evil becomes good because it is done in the name of good.

A just purpose does not cleanse deliberate cruelty, false consent, corrupted evidence, collective punishment, betrayal of law, or destruction of personhood.

The Crown shall be judged not only by what it seeks, but by the means it chooses, the records it preserves, the remedies it provides, and the willingness with which it corrects itself.
